The Series is comprised of multiple spearfishing tournaments and sanctioned by the Florida Skin Divers Association (FSDA), a not-for-profit volunteer organization with a rich and honorable legacy. Scoring is based on an aggregate system with honors given to the Top 5 Individuals, Top Team, and Top FSDA Club.

  • The Best of the West – June 7th, 2025 – Bahia Mar Marina, Bradenton
  • Tampa Bay Spearfishing Challenge – June 23rd – OCC Roadhouse, St. Petersburg
  • The Southern Open – July 13th – Seafire Grill, Pasco County
  • The St. Pete Open – September 6th – Ferg’s, St Petersburg
  • **Dates and times for all events subject to change**

Registration:
Any individual who is a “dues paid” member of the FSDA and registers for one of the 2025 Events will be eligible to participate in the Super-Series without additional cost. It is each shooter’s responsibility to designate him/herself as a Super Series participant at each tournament captain’s meeting to the Super Series representative to aid the committee in the calculation of the scores.

Rules:
Participants in the Super-Series will adhere to the individual rules and regulations associated with each of the 2025 Events, which are at the discretion of the hosting club/organization. Further, the FSDA may choose to include or exclude events or participants and amend rules to the Super-Series throughout the season. Any challenges pertaining to the Super-Series rules or scoring must be filed in writing with the FSDA Super Series Committee.
Super Series Committee
The 2025 Super Series Rules Committee will consist of:  Dan Hosmer, Kara Wall, and Ben Choi. Any protests or challenges to the scoring or infraction of rules shall be brought to a vote by the committee. If any committee member is the subject of any protest or challenge, he/she must recuse themselves from the vote and the FSDA president will vote in their place in the event of a tie vote.

Scoring:
Participants will receive a point value representative of their placing in the overall scoring in each of the 2025 Events.
TBSC/ Southern Open scoring : The Top 99 participants will receive points based upon their ranking in the overall scoring. For example: 1st place receives 100pts. 2nd Place receives 99pts. 3rd place receives 98pts, etc. The 99th place shooter will receive 1point.
Best of the West scoring: Only Offshore division participants will be given points in the Super Series. Each shooter will weigh ONE fish towards the Super Series rankings. The points of that ONE fish will be tallied in a separate ranking in which the Top 99 participants will receive points based upon their ranking in the overall scoring. For example: 1st place receives 100pts. 2nd Place receives 99pts. 3rd place receives 98pts, etc. The 99th place shooter will receive 1point.

Super series rankings are completely individual and not based upon the team structure of the BOW tournament. (It is possible that a shooter who weighs a 100lb carbo for 150 points that was NOT on the winning team, receives the highest super series ranking for this tournament). It will be the captain’s responsibility to identify and designate to the SUC weigh master which fish were shot by which diver. The Super Series committee recognizes that this scoring relies on an honors system. Any form of cheating found will result in a disqualification from the Super Series and the Best Of the West scoring for your entire team. If you cheat in this regard, you are not only dishonorable, you will be cheating your friends.
St Pete Open tournament scoring will be based off overall ranking/prize table pick order. The top 99 participants will receive points based upon their ranking in the overall scoring/ pick order. For example: 1st pick receives 100pts. 2nd Pick receives 99pts. 3rd pick receives 98pts, etc. The 99th pick shooter will receive 1point.

Top Individuals – Calculated as the sum of a participant’s best 3 out of 4 scores. Tiebreakers will be decided as the best 4 out of 4 tournament aggregate score. This is done to encourage all FSDA clubs and members to shoot all 4 of the super series tournaments.

Top FSDA Club – Calculated as the sum of a club’s Top 3 of 4 event scores. Each event score is the aggregate “Super-Series Points” for the Top 5 individuals in the club per event with a maximum score of 500 per event (Top 5 Finishes). Club members are required to be designated allegiance to the Super Series representative prior to the start of each event.  Tiebreakers will be decided as the best 4 out of 4 tournament aggregate score for the top 5 individuals in each club. This is done to encourage all FSDA clubs and members to shoot all 4 of the super series tournaments.

Honors:
Honors will be given to the Top 5 Individuals and Top FSDA Club for 2025 and shall be presented at the annual FSDA non-Banquet in early 2026.
